Dramatic video shown in court as men stand trial for armed robbery at Sydney hotel
Dramatic video has been shown in court of two armed robbers smashing their way into a Kings Cross hotel and robbing the manager.
Security video shows the moment two masked men storm The Vegas hotel in Kings Cross, armed with a hammer and a knife.
They smash their way inside in what prosecutors allege was an inside job.
It appears the manager's hands are then lashed with cable ties.
The men then grab hundreds of thousands of dollars from the safe, stashing it in black bags before they make their escape in a waiting getaway car.
But police allege it was all an inside job and that the knife threats were staged for the cameras.
It's alleged one of the masked men is Adam Elshaimy and that he conspired with three others to carry out the robbery in July 2013.
It's alleged his brother, Islam, who was a security guard at the venue, drove the car.
Both are on trial in the district court and both have pleaded not guilty.
The trial continues on Monday.
